Its another "nothing to hide" policy:mad: Next will be cctv cameras in everyones house!!!

Do they not realise that DNA is exceptionally easy to plant at a scene of a crime???

The world has truly gone mad! If expectations of the Police and the State is that kids will turn to crime one day then they can not be supprised that they do!! It's a self fullfilling prophecy! If you are told that is what you will do then you WILL DO IT!

Mind you, with some of the ridiculous laws we have today, most people will break at least one!!!!

I wonder if this could be challenged on human rights basis, or even general UK law which (i beleive) is based on 'innocent until proved guilty'.. just being on a register could sway a judge / jury?

I have no probs with criminals being tagged, but not the average joe public who's going about their business, and certainly not kids who should really be just reported to / taken home to parents, for a good 'talking too' .. (ie, no playstation for you, my lad!)

I'd just like to point out that this isn't "the police", it's "the current government". Enough bobby bashing already.

No ones "Bobby bashing" as you put it but each force can have a policy of not taking the DNA, the article is specific about this being a very localised event.
