The Algarve is priced pretty competitively. Not too far on a plane, and wouldn't be THAT hot (thinking of less extreme heat for the baby)0

hi carol9uk
i took my son on his first plane holiday at the end of march. we went through monarch for just over £600 for the 3 of us to portugal, valamoura, in this we had a 3 bed villa, with pool and free hire car, it was perfect and the villa was very safe foe the little ones. it was called villa diana. it was a 20min walk/5 min drive to the marina with beautiful boats and was packed full of restauants all child friendly and very good service. within our location there were numerous tows/places of interest within a 10-20 min drive. i also liked the fact that it was only a 15 min drive from the airport so no lengthy transfers. i booked this 5 weeks prior to departure as i was price watching. we had breakfast and lunch at the villa, ate out every evening and we spent about £800 inc petrol etc for the full week, but tbh we could have spent 1/2 that if we didnt spoil our little man so, (3 yrs of age)
hope this helpsEvery day is a school day :T:T:T0 -
Hi, we took our 10 month old son to Costa Almeria last year think it was around March time and it was lovely not too hot and not too cold! It was only 2.5 hours away on the plane as well. We paid about £300 for a week self catering but that was booked 8 weeks before we went. My DS loved the plane, the only thing that bothered him was the taking off and landing which hurt his ears a bit but if you give them something to suck on at these times it helps a lot! Getting married 23/09/09

Greece is one of the best places to go on holiday if you have children, they are treated like the royalty they are. In October-time the weather is perfect in Crete, nice warm days and cool evenings so not too hot to sleep the little ones. If you can find a package to Paleokastritsa you'll have a wonderful time, it's a pretty little town and has a lovely beach, perfect for little kids. Some parts of the north of the island with a very short trip from either Chania or Heraklion airports are lovely too and you can go for some great day-trips on the local bus for fourpence ha'penny.0

Menorca? Lots of places are getting ready to shut down in October so it will probably be quiet wherever you go.0
