Advice needed on new car price (nissan n-tec)

I want to buy a new Nissan Qashqai+2 N-tec, which has a list price of £18,500, and a current offer of 0% finance.
Went to my local dealer, and with the current financial climate, was half expecting to get a good deal, but after a bit of haggling, their best offer was the following:
The car for £18,300, including a full tank of fuel, mats, metallic paint, 1 years road tax, and the 1st registration fee.
I want to part/exchange my old car and they have offered me £2250 (after initially only offering £2000). I previously checked out the valuation online, and WhatCar and Parkers came up with figures of £3275 and £2675 respectively.
So essentially, I would have to pay £16,050 and give them my old car.
Can anyone please advise what kind of discount I should be getting, as I don't really feel they've offered much of one at all. When they asked me what MY offer was, I said £13,500 plus my old car, which they basically said they wouldn't be able to get anywhere near. I figured £3000-ish for my car, plus a £2000 pound discount was fairly reasonable, but perhaps I'm wrong? I based this on the fact I know of someone recently getting £3000 of a new £20,000 Toyota without apparently trying too hard! (plus getting a good part/ex)
Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated. Obviously I walked away, but did say I was open to any offer improvements!

Nissan Almera 1.5, SVE (highest spec), Silver, 04 reg, about 33,000 miles.0 -
I think you would be lucky to get more than £2500 as a genuine trade value for your car.
Regards the new car i've had a quick scout around seems that nobody is giving more than £1k off. IIRC this car is pretty new out so it might be worth waiting a little while for a bigger discount. MFR's tend be a little cautious at giving of big chunks of immediately but most don't wait very long before they get real.
IF you want to buy it now. Get ringing round some nissan dealers tell them what you have and what you want and see what the best cost to change u can get is. Then go back to the original people if you can and see if they can match or better it.
From my quick look some where around £15250 to change would be good going.0 -
I think you may struggle to get anything off this one at the moment !!I am not saying its impossible but not many brokers are offering discounts on this one
As lemonade Pockets states about £1000 is the best you will get at a brokers0 -

I don't really need to rush, but how long do you think I need to wait? 1 month? 6 months? 1 year?
Saying that, a big part of me does want to do the deal asap, as from my (very limited) experience, Nissan don't tend to offer 0% finance deals, and at present they're only doing it on the car (and grade) I actually want, so I don't want to miss out!0 -

Million dollar question my friend.
Depends how many they sell vs sales and production budgets/schedules. (My best guess would be October at the latest tho)
If it was me and i could afford it without the big discounts i'd do my homework and make sure i was getting the best possible deal for now. As you have pointed out future discounts may result in the 0% being withdrawn.
N.b. The margin and finance deals that the MFR gives dealers tends to be reviewed on a quarterly basis.0 -

Thanks for that... but I'm not keen on buying through an online company. Bit unknown and scary! lol.
Would rather stick to the relative safety of a dealer.0 -
Hi Herman,
I was offered this model from a Nissan dealer in Sunderland for £17569 all in. I think that included the Gap insurance as well though I wouldn't want it really. No mats though.0 -

Broadspeed are just the agent. Once you confirm through them a UK authorised Nissan dealer will contact you and arrange everything. We've used Broadspeed and Drive The Deal and had loads of discounted cars from them. The man without a signature.0
