Ka 2003 to buy or not to buy??/

:rolleyes: Hi, i'm currently looking at an 03 plate ford ka-basic one with 55,000 miles on it? would anyone recommend this and how long will it last with this many miles on the clock, only doing the school run in it but want something with some life in it!!! Please help!!!

The Ford Ka are popular and mechanically they last well. The one problem I know they do have as they age they can rust quite badly. It is worth giving the car a good inspection as rust can be very expensive to put right come MOT time.
An alternative would be something which has a galvanised body which should not rust (Unless badly repaired after an accident). Small Fiats have been Galvanised for 20+ years, a basic Punto with no complicated electronics to go wrong should give many years reliable motoring0 -
As above, great little cars but they do rust and it just appears from nowhere!

I personally hate them and i think they are shocking safety wise too. The brakes are !!!!!! for starters.
However mechanically they are reasonably robust, the engine in them has been around since adam was a lad so parts and maintenance is pretty cheap!0
