She had three children (all different dads) and lived in a council house and sat on her bum all day. ) nobody should generalise which type off people live in social/council housing.
I do live in a council house and i dont have any off the types you mention living near me .
I used to own my own house & i dont now and certainly didnt think i was better than anybody else when i did
Infact my house now backs on to a row off private houses and they actually think they are something else , so much so that they throw ciggy ends over my fence into my garden and look down on the ppl here who have council houses !!
the poster seems to imply that if you have a council house you will have children to diff men and sit on your !!! all day i think this can be said off anybody whether a home owner or not.
Iam sure there are the scum that you speak off but i resent being classed the same just because i have a council house
Hi no offence intended to anyone . I was merely stating facts. If I have upset anyone I apologise. I know of many decent people living in council housing, sadly my BIL's wife isn't one of them!!!Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -
As other people have said, you can't know the inside of another relationship, although it sounds perfect to you from the outside.
Different people want different things out of life and at different times in their lives.
You don't perceive the older man as being attractive but that doesn't mean that your sister really isn't in love. I think your wife is right, a cheap ring in any case does not mean a lesser sentiment. Be there for her, and then if she is making a mistake, you can be on hand to offer support and if she isn't making as mistake, you will be able to see in time that her happiness is real.0 -
Maybe your sister, although at first appearing to have a perfect life, was unhappy, and felt bored with the relationship.
This guy has come along, and she has been attracted to him, precisely because he seems different from the norm, and has offered a way out. Not my cup of tea at all, but perhaps she hadn't been happy for a while and took the first available option. Maybe she has a good time with him and felt her old life was dull, again I'm not condoning her actions, just looking for a possible explanation.
Not everyone is fortunate to be happy with their life, even though it might seem enviable to others.0 -
Yes, but a large percentage are, especially the lifetime workshy. I live in a council house myself and see chav scum all around me. The poster said the lady lived in a council house and both of them did not or had any desire to work. That is a big difference to a working family in a council house (of which their are few, 80% of my landlords tenants claim full housing benefit) and those "types" deserve their bad reputation.
If you live in a council house yourself, you must be blind not to see it or be very lucky.
This is actually quite offensive and on the estate where my parents and I lived for over 30 years, totally incorrect.
Please can you stick to the point of the original thread, rather than lambasting those of us who live on council estates and calling us "workshy" or "chav scum".0 -
OP, I agree with those who say your best option is to be there if she needs you at a later date, and tolerate (if you cannot actually like) her new partner & his family as they seem to be making her happy for the present time.0
