Court Action - Scotland

Hi everyone!

Has anyone had any experience of taking a credit/store card to court in scotland?

I've checked Legal Beagles, but the guide seems slightly out of date.

Am I better just using MCOL as it's an English based company?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do I take it that you live in Scotland? If so, you can only use MCOL (or N1 at any County Court, for that matter) if you have an address in England for service of documents.

    Sorry slightly wrong info:
MCOL requires English service address, but you can raise a claim in England at the County Court nearest to the firms registered office, under the Civil Jurisdiction and Judgments Act 1982. See here:

Yeah, I have an address in England also, which I can use.

I just thought doing it in Scotland as I'm here at the moment, and the particular card in question has always been registered at my scottish address.

Have given Amethyst on LB a shout on that guide so that it can be updated. Thanks for the nudge.
