Oxendales discount vouchers - beware!

My mother received an e-mail last week, offering a 30% discount on orders placed by May 18th.

She entered the discount code at checkout, which failed to specify the discount on her £70.00 worth of goods, so after finishing the checkout, the confirmation e-mail then stated (and only then) that the discount didn't apply as one or more items were already reduced. At no time in the original e-mail offering the discount was this caveat made apparent.

For me this is misleading in the extreme and we are taking the matter up with Trading Standards.

It was apparent from their site on Sunday, that items were routinely stated as being reduced a smidgeon, presumably as a justification for reneging on the discount offer. Very sharp practice and despicable.

Beware the bogus discount! :mad:
