Just got home to a letter from our new letting agent...
Our boiler was playing silly wotsits last week so the landlady came round on monday pm with the boiler man.. Its a vokera combi boiler and having googled we know that the issue is the heat exchange is knackered... It works spasmodically and every so often throws out an error code 07
Apparently the heating man couldnt find a problem..
The letter says (and I copy word for word):
Dear Mr and Mrs XX
Heatcraft have been round to the above mentioned property to fix the error code on the boiler.
The company cannot find anything wrong with the boiler but what they have said is that the thermostat has been moved?
If there are any problems in the future regards to the boiler or gas equipment please do not touch anything and call me straight away so that we can get a Corgi registered engineer out to correct the problem.
If you wish to discuss any of the above please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely

Well for a start Corgi dont exist and as letting agents they should know that but also its a wireless thermostat.. so we can move it anywhere round the house to heat the house as we choose.. So why cant we move it without an engineer?

It may be wireless but it can still be fixed. It actually needs to be somewhere that is within signal reach of the receiver, this will have been tested when initially positioned.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Where we had moved it to was even closer to the receiver, it was under the stairs so when the heating was on upstairs got really hot and downstairs got luke warm.
We moved it to half way up the stairs so we got a good balance of temperature..
The agent apparently also emailed my H asking him what the problem with the boiler was when my H had already told one of the agents colleague the problem when he phoned up about it...
What is it with LA? Why are some of them out to completely screw the tenant?0 -

CORGI does still exist , it's just that Gas Safe has taken over the register. Yes they should have known but the term CORGI has been around for so long that it's possibly just stuck in their heads , rather than a clear indicator of anything sinister. Agree with Silvercar on the wireless thermostat. Have I just stuck up for an LA?? OMG
LOL thanks tbs, didnt realise that about Corgi
