Self Employment Credit Scheme - Help

Hello,
Can anyone help? I have got two questions about the Self Employment Credit scheme?
Does it replace the New Deal Self Employed Scheme? and also on both schemes, do you still get Mortgage interest Payments payment whilst on the scheme? and doing test trading?
I am thinking of applying for the New deal self employed if it is still available or the Self employment credit scheme - but I would need to have MIP still paid in order to survive whilst trying to get a business off the ground and would like to know what the implications are before contacting the Job centre.
if anyone can help that would be great.
Rgds

From what the job centre told me they are reviewing the new deal thing. There are 3 different categories you may fall under though depending on your age and how long you have been out of work for.
For example....I am setting up my own business at the moment and wanted to go onto this new deal thing from the job center because I dont want too search for jobs anymore since its just pointless when I want to start my own business and get paid to do something I enjoy. However not as easy as that with the job centre they said to me that I had to be signed on at the job centre for min of 12 months which I havent because I had to signe off when I go on holiday so thats out of the topic now. To had insult to (me) is doing all that he can to stay out of dept the job centre say also that we (the jobcentre) are reviewing the new deal and you wont be entitled to it because you havent been signed on for min of 12 months. Which I havent because I had to signe off when I went on holiday......but wait for this one, another reason I cannot get it because I dont have a criminal record. God knows why they would want to waste money on people who have criminal records.
To answer your question find a funding organisation that will provide you with a grant for your buisness. As for the job centre I would go for the self employement credit (its £50 a week) it will keep you and your business going for a while, which I am applying for soon because quite simply there is no strings attached or stupid rules that apply to it (I hope).
I have been to 3-4 different funding organisations and they all only provide a loan because of the ressession. The University is my last hope as they might give me £1000 grant for my business but sods law at the moment is everybody is doing it and I going to need some luck in the next 3 weeks if I going to get my business off the ground.
Hope this helps0
