Vouchers sold on ebay - scam?

Wonder if anybody could help? Ive just sold some vouchers on Ebay (unwanted present) and they sold for 5% more than they were worth . The buyer paid instantly and has sent me an email asking me not to leave feedback. The buyer is listed as a power seller and seems to buy & sell concert tickets and also buys a few vouchers.

I only use ebay to make a few extra £££'s to clear my debts and only sell things that I already have, usually the kids clothes that they have grown out of! Im not in a position to lose this money but it just doesn't look right to me.

Thanks

Perhaps if it was a fairly large amount of vouchers they are planning on splitting them into smaller lots and reselling them so dont want you to leave feedback showing how much they paid for them.

How did you intend to post them?

I think vouchers have to be sent special signed for delivery, otherwise the buyer can claim they didn't arrive, and the post office won't give compensation for vouchers, meaning buyer gets a refund and the vouchers, and you get nothing.

Or perhaps their account has been hijjacked? Perhaps request their contact details and phone them?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Either scammy or they don't want people to know that they are just buying from ebay and selling straight back. (why don't they open a buying account?)

Or- they are buying as a gift. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Not saying this is the case in this instance but a lot of unemployed people sell stuff on Ebay then use the money to buy vouchers instead of depositing the money into their bank accounts so it doesn't affect their benefits.
I once sold £100's worth of Halfords vouchers and got £98.50 for them. Once I added the Special Delivery. it came to over £100.
Take a look and you'll see loads going for what their nearly worth.

Thanks for all your replies, my instinct tells me that he is trying to hide earnings. I know it's not right but i'm more concerned that i would lose the vouchers and the money and i can't afford to lose £50! I will send them recorded delivery tomorrow and just keep my fingers crossed!

  • Send them special. I know it costs more, but vouchers are NOT covered by Recorded Delivery in the event of loss.
