Boots own brand creme of magnesia tablets contain Magnesium hydroxide 300mg tablet Chew 2 tablets after meals, at bedtime or when required.

Phillips Milk of Magnesia contains Magnesium hydroxide 1200 mg.tbs
adults and children 12 years and older 2 to 4 tablespoonsful, dose may be taken once a day preferably at bedtime.

I go for whichever works out the cheapest. Magnesium Hydroxide is magnesium hydroxide and I don't think it matters whose name is on the label.

Hi thanks for the reply but this was needed in the liquid form as has to go on skin! (yes the woman in superdrug gave me an odd look too!) so didnt want to pay almost £4 for the proper one if theirs at £1-50 works..thanks

Magnesium Chloride is also very good/cheap for transdermal application or indeed soaking in a hot relaxing Dead Sea Salts bath. Equine suppliers, Countrywide stores, horsey places sell it in 25kg sacks for around £5 and a jugful in a bath will not only improve your magnesium status but help your skin.

I can't see any problem using the generic versions rather than the name brands. I think the only real difference will be the label.

Go for it! No reason it shouldn't work, own label paracetamol etc are just as good as brand name versions.
