Does using a mortgage broker save time?

Hello helpful people,
I have been searching myself and have contacted L&C - we both cam to the same conclusion for a mortgage.
I don't know what the pros & cons are of doing it through L&C or doing it myself.
Please could you let me know your experiences. I have seen some complaints about L&C's performance on this forum.
Many thanks

L&C probably deal with hundreds of people a month. The vast majority will be very happy. People tend to post bad news and not good news. Often the posts we see about L&C are misunderstandings about what to expect. They will also deal with people who probably shouldnt have gone down the "direct" route as well and expect a service level you would get face to face rather than direct. Direct may be fashionable but its not right for everyone.
A local broker can save time. They can make sure the paperwork is completed, that you dont need to arrange copies of statements etc as they do that. You can see the research and the deals available if you want. Often all done in your own home and at no extra cost to you compared with you going direct. The broker than has a liability on that to make sure things are done correctly and the advice given is good. That gives you some consumer protection going forward.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
