Hi All
Wondered if someone might be able to help? I have some friends who had a TV package with Virgin Media. They moved home to an area where there is no Virgin Media coverage. As they have been with Virgin for less than a year they have been told that to cancel their contract they will have to pay £120.
Is this correct?
Is there anything they can do?
Your help is much appreciated.

Nope nothing that can be done, If its less than a year they will be on a contract with Virgin Media for atleast 12 months, So they will have to pay the fee to cancel.0

But they will be paying for a service that they can't receive due to Virgin Media's not providing it in the new area. Surely this isn't covered by the contract, which is by mutual agreement a service provided for a fee?
I would have a look at the "in case of cancellation" bit of the contract. Moving to an area not covered by Virgin Media does not constitute their recinding on the agreement.0 -

They are paying for a service they cant receive due to them moving ! I'm sure Virgin are quite happy to keep to their part of the agreement at the original address.
Virgin can not be held responsible because the OP decided to move into a area they don't cover"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
