Is there any Benefit (help ) available

Hope this is the right board to post this question on ??
My Husband has been going through the redundancy discusions at work and the week before last he was told that yes the company was closing and that the 3 members of staff (oh included) were being made redundant on the 29th of May. the week after this meeting he recieved his letter confirming this.As he has only been with the company for 15months he would not be owed any redundancy pay.
On the thursday he went for a Interview for a New Job with New company. and was fortunate to be offered this postions and started work yesterday.
In the previous job he was paid weekly. In the New job it is monthly pay and his first pay day will be the 28th May.
We have no savings live in rented property and have 1 dependent child, and i'm on incap benefit. with wtc & ctc does anyone now if we can claim any assistance to enable us to pay the rent etc.
I did ring jobcentre and they have said nothing from them because he wasn't out of work and it make no difference if he had letter of redundancy.

If he hasn't been out of work then he has no entitlement to any state benefits.

Could he ask his new employer for a sub to help pay the rent on time? If not then you need to speak to the landlaord asap to explain why you are going to be late paying the rent & make arrangements for paying off the arrears you acrue.
