Hi,
Not sure if this is on the right place so if it will get better coverage elsewhere then can it please be moved?!!
Anyway, the reason I need people to see it is because I, like hundreds of others, claimed back in January for the Child Tax Rebate. I haven't received or heard anything since so telephoned my local Inland Revenue office today with my proof of recorded delivery receipt to find that it hasn't even been looked into!
I gave them the details of the receipt for them to look into for me and a helpful lady phoned back quite promptly to tell me the bad news!! Apparently I had sent my claim form which included my national insurance number, daughters details, my name and address to a fake company acting on behalf of the government. They're calling themselves The Entitlements Agency....and their web is: tax credits org uk (although its not allowing me to type it in properly) which looks pretty genuine too!!!
The lady said they were shocked themselves at the site, address etc as the only difference is the fact that the last part of the web address is .gov.uk instead!!
Please could anyone else let me know if you have also sent your details to this company as I initially got the link from this website and yet cannot find anyone else posting any problems!! I have now lost out the chance to claim the money as the deadline has been and gone but I am still concerned with my personal details being in the hands of these crooks!!
This was the address it was sent to:
The Entitlements Agency
Chapel House
Chapel Street
Congleton
Cheshire
CW12 4AB
Thanks Sharon

I sent mine to my tax office, and they looked into it and said they had never recieved it!
Now they say that I should provide proof I was working then. I said I only worked Saturdays, so they said my Ex-husband would have to claim it instead of me! I'm not letting him have it, so it seems that I can't get it! GRRR!!!!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0
