pension credits

Hi my dad first applied for pension credits back in the middle of Feb. He is self employed and a lady came to do an interview with him approx 3 weeks ago. He is STILL waiting for any money. His housing benefit and council tax benefit is also waiting for this claim to go through. Is there a set time period which they must adhere to when processing a claim. This is about 2 months now. When I phone them they just say there is a backlog but dont seem to be moving things forward at all. He is desparate already with a big overdraft and his rent is due again next week.

Sorry this is of no help to you ,but just leeting you know that this is normal it does take quite a while the only thing you can do is keep ringing make a note of the dates you ring and also ask to speak to a manager it helps to quote the dates in any disputes you may have and usually speads things up
