Bank Charges Snowballing, what to do?

I successfully claimed my bank charges back from HSBC a few years ago, everything's been going really well until over Christmas I took my eye off the ball briefly and exceeded my overdraft by less than £100.

Since then I've been trying really hard to juggle money between my current account and bills account to bring them both into the black but the charges are way out of control, Over the two accounts we're incurring around £300 a month in charges!

HSBC have called a couple of times asking me what I intend to do about the state of the accounts and I've explained that their charges are the problem, I've asked them to waive the charges for just one month so I can get my account back in order but they said that they're not allowed to waive the charges whilst the court case is ongoing ,

We're a young family, if it was just the two of us I'd stop buying food for a few weeks and live off beans on toast every day to put it all right but we can't do that to the children, I've pleaded with the bank to help us but they refuse and just keep slapping on the charges, It's really getting me down, the last time I spoke to the bank I was sobbing to the person on the phone but they won't back down on the charges.

Any advice?

for starters that is bull - and probably from management rather than from the legal/regulatory bodies.

First thing I would do is move banks....get your income paid into new basic account and stop the circle.

Ditch the overdrafts and put the accounts into dispute and get a claim for a refund of all the charges into the bank.
