if i get carers allowance?

di i still have to have the back to work interveiws? just that i used to get income support for e and my kids... but now i also get carers for my 4yr old son... and i just thought that if you are on that you dont need to have the interveiws...

not that im bothered as i have noting to hide just curious

    I think your excused the WFI if you are on Carers.

    No.. you still have to attend WFIs.
    Your 'primary' benefit is IS as a LP, CA is only a 'secondary' benefit.

    The reason you still must attend is that IS is still being paid to you as a LP not a carer.........

    i still go for the work focus interviews every six months, i just tell them i'm still a carer and explain my circumstances and they dont pressure you into finding a job, in fact they been really supportive
    enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)

    I was told at my last interview that I would be put on 3 yearly interviews because I care for my son......I would think that would apply t6o all
  • thanks all for your replies :) my son starts school in septemeber but hes incontinent so im not sure if im going to have to go into school to do his catherterisastion so i think ill have to just wait and see what happens when the time comes :)

    also i really dont think that they could match the income i get now.... if i got a job... which sounds really stupid...

    I get carers allowace and have to go every 6 months for an interview.

    One thing I was advised is that if you have young children, income support doesn't stop once the youngest reaches 7.
