ok decided to start this and will hopefully keep it up to date. anyone with any help or advice please feel free to join in.
ok a bit about me (boring
) i am 39, married 15 yrs and have 4 kids. I live in a 3 bed semi, which i love and have no plans to move.
was made br in Apr 08, by Fife Council for non payment of council tax. Totally my own fault and i hold my hands up to that. I hid the mess i had got my family in from everyone, including my oh. First he knew was after the deed was done. I didnt go to court cause i hid my head and thought everything would go away. Anyway thats all in the past. We got AD on April 17th.
Now we have come into a bit of money, (mil died) how much exactely we are not sure as it is still in the hands of the lawyer. But should be sorted next month. There will be enough to clear my mortgage £26,000 and buy oh a new car.
We have been in the taxi business since '86 and have now decided that instead of driving for other people and lining there pockets. We will take the plunge and put our own car on. We have a car lined up (its already a working car) and is a great bargain. We also know all the service history so there is no probs there.
if you have got this far :T:T:T
i think this will be the ups and downs with new business, i also want to do some home improvements. All hints and tips are gratefully recieved.

Hi Kas
Sounds really positive. Good luck with your diary.
Do you have plans for the money that you earn - and won't have to pay of debts?

hi urg
thanks for replying
all my debts are paid, just to pay off what i owe my parents
so by next month i should be mortgage free, debt free and am AD as of this month :j:beer::j
we plan to buy the car outright and it is already equpied as a taxi and has passed all the tests. Have been on the phone for the last three days trying to sort out insurance, anything from £1254 to £3600 has been quoted. But thats one thing i will not scimp on.
I also want to put a side extension on the house to give me a new living room, so i can turn the one i have at the moment into a dining room and i could really do with a new kitchen. best keep putting my lottery ticket on :rotfl::rotfl:

hi
this is me rambling
am a night owl most of time, but i do have probs sleeping
just waiting for a couple of more insurance quotes to come in and then that should be sorted. I then have to sort out operators licence. We think the fuel should be around £250 a week, but again need to play that by ear. The car will have to work 6 days a week and 6 nights a week. We work on a 60% 40% basis. The driver gets 40% of what the car makes + plus there tips, we get 60% and we pay all the costs. Oh has all ready been told i will take 100% of what he earns and 60% of tips :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
This is a bit scarey but if we dont do it now we will be in the same place 20yrs down the line. Alright we wont have debts or mortgage but we will still be linning other peeps pockets
on the house front we were given a rough estimate of £40,000 for double extension on side of house. There is no way i can do that at the minute. So i am hoping i will be able to do the single with a view to putting another storey on later. I really would like to take the wall down between my kitchen and old living room to create a 24ft kitchen diner. I would also like to make the bathroom bigger, the house has a lot of potential.
i am also lucky that i have great neighbours on either side :T:T we do have a few probs with some of them mainly due to parking . The youngsters seem to think its ok to park across the drive. But i will get them sorted.
Have asked my mum if when i get my new living room if i can have her suite, its leather and i love it and it wont be any use to them in a few years cause its so low :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: she did say she would think about it :T:T and i did say i would pay for a replacement. I have already swiped the poffe thingy that goes with there suite so i might as well have the rest
Went to me grans at the weekend to help mum sort her curtains. Have left my name on the back of the curtains and told my gran when she goes out on Tuesday i am going to go up and take the curtains down. They're mine and will go great with the chinese rug i have. Think she has forgotten i have a key :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. We do this all the time in my family someone gets something new and its a race to see who gets their name on it
just wish the lawyer would hurry up and sort this out, am a bit annoyed with him. I called him today and was told he would call me back but he hasnt. I had a joint NS&I acc with MIL, got the forms to get it closed lawyer filled them all in and i signed aletter for him to say he was authorised to close acc. On saturday what comes throught the post but new cards for this acc for her and me. I called NS&I and was told the acc was closed and the money would be paid into my own personal acc today. How did they get personal acc details? Do they just cross reference? sorry am a bit confused about this.
right i better stop there cause if my mum sees the time i will be in trouble again :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
