A few years ago talking to a guy from Ohio ( never left the USA other than crusing the carribbean). Only ever heard of London and Windsor! So when I said Newbury, and that it was only 70 miles to centre of London. Thought that Newbury was in the suburbs!
So may not be an easy sell :eek:0 -

So you're in the catchment area for the lovely little Newbury Building Society. I've been looking at remortgaging and came across Newbury BS. Sadly, I don't qualify as they restrict lending to a small and local geographical area!0 -

Was, until 2 years ago. Rural Berkshire became overpriced so I cashed in and moved west. Used to borrow from a wonderful building society called the Cheltenham & Gloucester (pre Lloyds takeover).0 -
London and the South East will be bought up by foreign investors with the right currency when the price is right. Reckon Barnsley is safe though.0
