Hi Everyone
Let's start from the beginning, I have been off work for 7 months now due to being signed off as long term sick, I have know been dignosed with the condition BPPV and my doctor is still keeping me off sick until she is satisfied after all the treatment process I am going to be having.
Anyway my SSP stopped beginning of March and I have put in my claim for ESA (In which I am still awaiting to hear from), in the meantime I was told by the jobcentre if I feel upto it, to see if I can do some work, even if it's part time to start of with as the my job is currently keeping the postion open for me, but the type of work I was doing was making my BPPV worse, so now I have applied for a night time job, 16 hours a week and got a interview next week....
......If I get the job I will be quitting my old job and giving my notice in (oh and withdrawing the claim for ESA), the 2 questions I have is:
.Because I am on long term sick, how does the notice period be worked out??
.Will I except to get any kind of money from my employer, like any holiday pay etc...??
See I know nothing about this as I have never left a job before.... Please help
Many Thanks in advance

I am confused - you say that your SSP ran out in March - surely you mean your employer's pay ran out in March as they only tend to pay for 6 months, I think I am right in thinking that you can still claim SSP from the Benefits People.
Is there any way that you can return to work for your employer on a part-time basis and have your job adjusted to accommodate your disorder?

Horace - My SSP was being payed by my employer for the 6 months (just ssp pay) and has now stopped, so when that stops you have to put in your claim for ESA benefit if you are still signed off as long term sick, in which I am and have sent the claim off (I have been waiting for 1 month now)
I have asked my employer if I can return back part time or work from home, but they said I can't and also they will not adjust to accomadate my disorder, as I work on the 4th floor and also health and saftey reasons (that's why the doctor is keep me off sick)
Does that answer all our questions, please could yourself answer my questions
Thanks In advanceMarried the love of my life on 1st October 20110
