How much tax credits am I entitled to?

Hi there. At the minute I get child tax credits, moved in with boyfriend and going to claim working tax aswell as I am a SAHM. The income is £20,000 from his wage, that isn't including present tax credits and child benefit. Also my boyfrind isn't my dd's dad does that make a difference. Anyone any idea what we will get? Many thanks xx

How can you claim working tax credit if you do not work:confused:

Your boyfriend will not be able to claim working tax credits as his income is too high at £20k, it is there for low earners.

You will not get anymore than you are now, infact you may get less with taking his income into account. If you are a SAHM, are you in receipt of housing and council tax benefit? If so, you may find that an income of £20k will make you ineligible, or did i read that right and you have moved in with him?

Either way, you should probably expect to lose money.

Sorry if I have upset you. I just thought that we would be eligible for working tax. I meant that he would be claiming working tax. I honestly don't think there is any need for horridness on these forums. Of course I am not getting benefits as we live together. I did do a "do I qualify thing" ages ago and it said we would be eligible but just wondered if that was correct.

You will be assessed on household income and it makes no difference him not being the father.

Are you currently receiving income support?

If so, you will be able to keep all child maintenance from your child's father once you move in with your new partner whereas at present you should only be keeping the first £20 of it.

You will still receive ctc but possibly not as much as you do now, as mitchaa said. You will obviously lose your income support, if that is waht you claim, and possibly any housing/council tax benefit.

It is difficult to know without knowing if you work.

ETA I can see you don't work now. Sorry, I didn't read it properly.

He earns far too much money for you to claim WTC, I believe the cut off point is £15,000.
