I don't have the Credit Card so that aside just normal milegae was what i was talking about.

So what are you expecting? Pay for one (already reduced) flight per year and get one free?
    Cheers,

  • Unless you travel extensively on business, the credit card is definitely the way to go - especially if you commit yourself by paying the £100+ pa for a black one to get double miles on all spending, together with accelerated access to both free Reward Upgrades and free Companion Tickets.
My gripes: (i) using miles to UPGRADE requires you to buy over-priced eligible economy tickets first; (ii) how come the 'taxes and charges' on a reward ticket can amount to MORE than the TOTAL cost of the cheapest VA flight offers (especially in high season)?
Undoubtedly (as dorsetjohn says above) the best deals are for FULL Upper Class rewards at 100,000 miles return (excl limos); we've done that to South Africa - and very agreeable it was. Halfway to the next one - and hoping for more discounted offers.

    Well done.

Now - Back to VIRGIN ATLANTIC Flying club...............

I guess you just don't know how to use the club to your advantage?
I've had plenty of upper class return flights to/from San Fran/LA etc using miles.
Whilst it's not the best flying club around, it's not without it's uses and advantages.

Just landed back from NYC and had 6 girls in PE who were all on reward flights.

They travel alot with work and claim the miles themselves. They then decided to go on a shopping trip and only paid tax.

Its not the best miles programme, but if you work it to your advantage you can get some pretty good perks.

If you do fly VA alot, then defo sign up. its free and you can get the CC to increase your miles if that is what you want to do
