we had a bad snow storm in our area a month or so back and we had problems in our house , someone had their roof damaged down the road from us and someone's else roof i know of also got damaged. i think now i will have to track down whether all these dates coincide. the insurance companies involved are legal and general and sainsburys insurance (which i believe is halifaz is behind it - and i noticed the garage down the road and our claims accessing company are the same company and we both got turned down) saying not due to storm. so all 3 or more people involved in these claims will be getting no help whatsoever even though we all have problems. i know at least 1 person who is a surveyor is going to challenge it. What does this involve? and any tips/thoughts from anyone. thanks in advance.

What sort of problems did you have?0

Similar houses, built at the same time with same problems, could it be coincidence that they need maintenance and the snow triggered was the straw that broke the camels back turned the lack of maintenance into a failed roof? The man without a signature.0

If you tell us what the damage is you were claiming for we could give more informed answers0

What damage did the snow cause? Or did something happen which only became apparent because of the snow and therefore there may already have been a problem that no-one noticed?0

I agree honeypop, if the poster gives us some more details there are plenty of people on MSE who have the relevant knowledge and may be able to help. Only problem is we need to know what damage was caused by the snow or wind or the snow melting and getting into the house etc.
Post some more details up here and we can try and advice you whether the what the Insurers are telling you is correct or not.
When you post back up here it might also help us if you can tell us whether you have Accidental Damage Cover / Extended Cover0
