I had my daughter and son in law liveing with me,so naturally did not claim tax and rent rebate, they moved out,so I claimed and recieved it as on pension credit, then they moved back so cancelled my claim, someone from the council phoned me and asked why i had canceled it,the person told me that as it was my house and i was on pension credit I was still entitled to claim and sent me a form, this I did,as they were on over £350 a week I got the minimum entitlement which was about forty pound a week and nearly full council tax,it was a great help to me,it go,s on a slideing scale according to income but it seems not many people know of this entitlement.

Don't mean to be rude asking a personal question but are you over 65?
You see, if you are, you would be exempt from the non-dependant deduction, that applies due to your daughter (and family) re-joining the household, for the first 26 weeks.0
