Hi,

Just had £6,000 through unexpectedly.

This is going to form part of my house depoist, so looking to save it as cash really. Not user any ISA allowance for the tax year yet, am I best off opening with First Direct (my bank), Barclay's, or another?

Also should I do something else WRT variable interest rates bearing in mind they might start rocketing when the whole quantative easing thing kicks in?

I am thinking max out this year's via First Direct as I may not get Barclays or another bank's in in time, then go for a variable to max out next year's ISA allowance next week.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
