I managed to open an ISA for the 2009/10 tax year (I know it will be open on the 6th of April) at Abbey it took a long time as they asked a lot of questions and tried to flog me everything.

Before I went to 2 NatWest branches as I was in the area.

Branch 1. Told me that I can open an ISA for 2009/10 tax year early. When I told them that I already had an ISA for the 2008/09. The woman told me I can't open another ISA even though I tried to explain to her that I was not going to put any money into it after April 6th. She did try and flog me a savings account.

Branch 2. Wanted me to open a current account. I said no.
