Time required for Enhanced CRB check also references....

Hi,
Does anyone know how long the current enhanced CRB checks take to come through? I know on their website they say that 90% of the time its within 4 weeks and 10% might be longer but just wondering if there is a backlog that anyone is aware of?
Also if a reference fails and you didn't realise the referee would give you a bad reference, is there anything you can do about it or does it mean you just don't get offered the job?

It depends ... partly on the employer and partly what's in the reference! Some employers would ask if you could 'explain' the poor reference, others would withdraw the job offer, others would allow you to give another referee. Also if a reference fails and you didn't realise the referee would give you a bad reference, is there anything you can do about it or does it mean you just don't get offered the job?
Did you not ask your referees if it was OK to name them, and did that not give you a clue?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
There is no permanent time limit on these things.. trust me i know!
I got offered a job in november last year got told to hand my notice in as it was taking 3 weeks and i had to work a months notice.
I did.. and i waited and i waited and i waited.
It took 3 months.. i finally received in january by which time i had had to take up another position due to no money.
I have recently applied for another job and they say theirs usually take up to 6 weeks... I have spoken to the department that deal with them and they told me it really does depend on their workload
By the way mine was completely free of anything so wasnt delayed due to being a crim lol:rotfl:2025 Wins ::
