I've just seen my car come up on a monitor at a BP garage.

Hi all.Sorry if this is completely the wrong place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone could help.

I just went to my local BP garage to get some petrol and went into the shop to pay.Above the till area was a monitor which looked like it was running some kind of detection program. On there was a photo of my car with my registration. The program was called Shark or Genesis, I'm not quite sure. On the right hand side the words 'Live Detections' was lit up along with what looked like an email address.

It's got me a bit worried as I haven't a clue what it is, but it made out i'd done something wrong. To my knowledge I haven't.If anyone knows what it is that would help me greatly.Thanks.Josh

It's to stop drive offs, it chimes when a known bilker draws up.

Most petrol stations are now linked into the national ANPR database, so the government can keep tabs on your movements.

Not only that your record was added to the police national database in Hendon, the government keeps a record of everytime your car meets an anpr camera, so they know where you were day/time/date/location.

    Big brother, innit.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
i mentioned to the check out girl once that the pump took forever to turn on , she said the camera has to get a good view on the number plate and it stores the image long enough so that if you drive off they can look back and see you and the car

dont know why we dont have the pay first system like usa..stops all that nonsense
