What is a good credit score and what's a bad one?
Is it the higher the better or the lower the better?
I read earlier in these boards that someone had a rating of 953
That means nothing to me  and wondered if you guys knew?

In Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00
In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T

Credit scores are very misleading. The credit reference agencies have been using them to get you to pay extra for a useless service. As a rough guide they are ok but there are so many exceptions you can't rely on them. Basicly, the higher the better with 999 being about the max. Very very few people get that. 954 is excellent. The problem is that all organisations use there own scoring systems and its not just a 'score' that is important. IE Some credit cards are more likely to give you a card if you don't pay off every month because they will make more money out of you.
