Thought i would share this one with you.
Just today i was getting insurance for my "new" car (97 vectra estate)
Got the best quote TP F & T from 'more than'. After buying the policy over the phone (website wouldn't process card). I asked for a quick quote for putting the wife on as a learner driver.
Operator took all the details and told me that if i put the wife on the policy that my premium would come down by £31
extra risk extra person and the premium comes down?
Im not complaining though!
Might be worth all of you phoning your current insurers and putting someone else on your policy! and before anyone asks .... yes i did double check all the details were correct!

A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.

Which insurer was that with iw2s? Its almost time to renew the insurance on our car, at the moment its just my DH on there. Just done my first search on the post office and they quoted £750. If I added "me" as someone who'd just passed their test it brought it down by £20, however adding me as a provisional driver increased it to over £900. _pale_
I'd quite like to have a go at learning to drive this year so I'd be interested to know which insurers are likely to be not to expensive for adding me as a provisional driver. (I know quotes vary from situation to situation but it would help give me start.):shhh: There's somewhere you can go and get books to read... for free!

I put my mum on mine, there's zero chance of her driving my car (she's a one car driver, and we live 300 miles apart), but it brought the premium down! Can't remember what by. They don't have to live with you or be related (I asked), so try any stereotypically safe driver (middle aged, no claims etc) you can think of!
I wouldn't have thought learner drivers would bring it down though, so I am pleased for you!0
