Hi All,
I am new to the board though I have been lurking for months!
I am getting married in August and I have bought my wedding dress on line and it was a real money saver!

It is from the isle of white so no need to worry about it coming from abroad, My dress is beautiful and was under £200. The lady who owns it, Sally has a range of lovely dresses to choose from but she will also custom make one for you.

Do the dresses have built in petticoats or do you need to purchase these seperately? Competative prices with petticoats included but if not, anything between £40 and £70 to add on.

Alot of these dresses are the same as on Milly Bridals website! I thought Milly designed their own stuff??? These pics are exactly the same on both websites.

I'm confuzzled!!!!

The off shore web sites copy. I would think if the dresses are designed by Milly themselves, you could pay a lot more.
Island Elegance have very nice dresses all the same. x

the dresses are all copies of designer one Maggie sorreto so that is why most of them look alike as they are copying the desginer look. You will need a peet coat or a hoop under though buy them from ebay for under £10 the shop is called impersonal brides... I have done my research!!

Is The Isle of White not subject to our laws on copyright then? I could understand it if it were The Chanel Islands, but Isle of White is part of UK so the laws on copyright will stand. If these are outright copies, Island brides best make sure before they and their customers are done for designer theft.

the isle of white shop does not state that they are copies as they have made them and no where does it say they are designer etc, also they are their own pics on dummys. So I suposse they can do it as they are there dresses and not pretending to be anything else, they dresses also dont have any names.
However if you go onto millies birdes then go onto the maggie sorreto you will see they have directly taken the pics from her site. Hope this helps x

So, is this your opinion or, this is what they actually are?
Sorry, but I do find the whole outright copy thing grating. I know it is a great way for ladies to get exactly what they want at heavily discounted prices, but it is stealing an idea from someone who works exceptionally hard to get where they are today. I love to save ladies money, but I do not copy dresses.

I agree with you that copying is bad and in general I will always buy the designer brand, though in fairness I fell in love with the dress, well the style when I tried a similar two piece on in a shop and then I seen something that looked very smilar to what I wanted on island elegance website and I did not know it was anywhere else and that it may be very much like something else until I started to look around. x
