well as we all know theres not much out there, my friend has a job however and i often sit with her at her work place (been learning the ropes when no boss in ). I know what to do and have been cheeky saying 'GIZ A JOB', to the boss but in effect meaning it, i showed him i know what to do, he said business is slow (understandably), he said he would give me 8 hours, i reckon one day that business may pick up and at least i would have my foot in, told staff at DWP and was advised not to bother going for it

So it just goes to show all of those 250,000,000 jobs the gov say are about arnt worth it unless there are about 15 people living in one house to be able to pay the rent and council tax.

I don't understand why they would say not to bother. That's the advice given to some people who wouldn't end up better off if they started working but at 8 hours p/w you could continue to sign on as a part time worker to ensure that your NI contributions are still paid. Then again not sure how other benefits like rent and council tax are affected
