Credit card in credit

Options
Hope someone can shed a bit of light on this :)

I paid off a lump sum and cleared down my virgin credit card about a month ago and asked them to cancel the account, which they said they will. I cut up the card and binned it. Just earlier tonight though, I thought I'd log in to virgin and see if it has actually been cancelled.

I can still log in and see my statements etc. It does say zero balance, however it says £42.42 CR. Does this mean Im actually £42 in credit on the card and that belongs me? if so can I request this money? Also if I can still log in have they not cancelled my account?

thanks :)

If you're in credit, call and ask for it back. They might do it by BACS, might send a cheque. Who knows.

It may be worth taking a screen shot showing the credit - it may come in handy.

Can you think to what the £42 would relate?

I have no idea, I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask them about it.

    Yes.

    Ring them up.

Not necessarily. I can still 'access' two accounts I canceled about 2 and 4 years ago. Try going to https://www.bankcardservices.co.uk/NASApp/NetAccessXX/MyProfileScreen (you may have to log in first, then go to that page on the same browser window) and see what it says for 'Account Status.' (You might have to click 'Show inactive accounts.')
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
