is she entitled to carers allowance?

hi all,
My cousin looks after her grandaughter who suffers from epilepsy, also her son suffers from diabetes does anyone know if she should apply to be their carer?

If they get middle or high rate care component of Disability Living Allowance, she looks after them for 35 or more hours a week and earns less than £95 a week she would be entitled to claim Carers Allowance. She would only be able to claim once even though she may look after both of them.

hi anguk thanks for the quick response she gets nothing for looking after them, she is 57 and on benefits0

What benefits is she on? If it is IB then she will only be paid one or the other (whichever is higher)
Not sure about other benefits
