Cleaning Laptop Hijack this + Malwarebytes

Hi Guys.

Im new to this forum, but have been lurking for a while.

The brother of my fiencee has given me his laptop to look at as over the past few weeks it has been getting slower and slower. Windows (XP) can take nearly 5 mins to get to the login screen and the same time again to settle down once logged on.

I found out that he installed Limewire on advice of a friend, but I informed him of the risks, and that it was potentially that, that caused the laptop to slow down, and so removed it.

This made very little difference, so I have run a HIjact this scan, and malwarebytes. I would be grateful if you guys could take a look and tell me what you think.

The MalwareBytes scan is still running, at the moment, so here isjust the HIjackThis Log.

Thanks, Tim

It says NO ACTION TAKEN on the end of them all

Run again and make SURE theyre TICKED to delete them and repost the log

Removing limewire itself wont do anything. Its some of the files LIMEWIRE has downloaded that are going to be infected

    after that run SAS
Download SUPERANTISPYWARE (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/
    UPDATE and PERFORM COMPLETE SCAN

    and runa fresh hijack log

  • Hi aliEnRIK,

I manually ticked the items and removed them at the end of th scan.

Also meant to mention this in the 1st post, but when windows logs on a "rundll" error pops up saying "error loading \3\LXCFtime.dll The specified module could not be found"

The laptop is also running considerably faster , after the item were removed
