Problem reporting posts as spam/abuse???

Hi guys,

Bit of strange one this. Was just wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, or even if this is supposed to happen and Im missing something.

Basically, Ive just tried to report the troll (qwer1234567) who seems to be posting the same spam message on loads of different boards, but when I click the report button in the bottom left of the post, bizarrely, it opens up my MSN messenger!!! Is this normal, or has anyone heard of this before?

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Its not done thought the site it opens you mailing software.
    Send a email to !!!!!!
    With the subject: Reporting Post
Then put the thread in the body

Yes its quite normal (Dependent on what your primary email is set as)

Ahhhhh, now I get it.... I didnt realise it was an email that was sent to report abuse. I thought it was just some kind of electronic alert sent to the mods when the button was pressed. I get it now. So when I click the button, its opening MSN to initiate an email to then send.....

Ok, Ill just send an email manually from now on, should I need to.

    Many thanks.

It is on 95% of the worlds forum based websites. Sadly MSE want to be as non-standard as possible with this feature.

That feature really needs to be improved...I'm surprised that the vBulletin system doesn't do it all online.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

It does by default. MSE decided to change it.

I've never really thought about it. I click to report a post, and Apple Mail pops up. I just hit send and it's done.

But not so good if your not on your usual computer that is not setup exactly as you want it - or for circumstances similar to the OP where for many people using a form of webmail is their default and Windows Mail pops up asking to be configured when you try to report a post.
