Hi,
My partner is out of work at the moment as he was made redundant a few months ago. We have a baby and a toddler. Our baby will be 1 on Thursday, and have just checked my online banking and my Child tax creds have gone in today (Wednesday), when they usually go in on a Thursday, will this be because my son is 1 on Thursday? Also the amount of tax creds has gone down by £25 (a week) I thought it'd only go down by about £10? I'm worrying as we struggle as it is.

Everyone on here always says that it only goes down by £10 once a child turns 1. But mine went down by nearly £50 a week  When my son turned 1.
I think its £10 minimum it can go down by,depending on what your original award was...When my son was born i got nearly £100 a week child tax credits. ...Once he turned 1 it went down to £49
If your worried, then give them a call.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

Most people due payments tomorrow have received them today due to a public holiday on Tuesday of this week.
Have you made any changes to your details/claim recently?
When a child turns 1 you lose approx £10 p/w (annual figure is actually £545).
If you have had any one-off payments outwith your normal payment dates this could be why your payments have reduced.0 -

You will probably find there was another reason why your payments changed by so much.
The baby element is only £545 p/year and this is £10 p/w approx.
You may have had another change - income increased from the year you were on maternity going in to the following year? hours decreased?
If you are unsure you should check your award notices or call TCO helpline.0 -

That has nothing to do with it . I was on income support at the time. There for there could of been no change.;)Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne

It sounds like this could be a one off payment and not your regular payment, I wouldn't worry about it until tomorrow if your regular payment amount hasn't gone in then. One off payments can be triggered when you change any details with them, have you done that recently? If you give them a call they can explain whether that amount was a regular payment that appeared early, or something completely different.0

Did you receive any one off payments out of sync with your payment schedule?
Did you call to find out why your payments reduced by so much?0
