Is anyone able to help?
I have had my new laptop for about 2 months. It is a Dell Inspiron 1525.
Last night I turned it on & it came up with "A disk read error occured"
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart...I do this & it comes up with the same message.
I have pressed F12 when turning it on to do the diagnostics testing & it says everything is fine. Is there a simple fix I can do or do I need to contact Dell. Ideally I don't want to lose everything I have on the laptop.
Thanks
Nicky

Hi there, it sounds like you might have an external hard drive or memory stick attached? Sometimes the computer will attempt to boot from these devices and fails because they have no operating system loaded. Check in the BIOS what your boot device priority is set to and make sure it's the laptop internal hard disk.
If it's not this then sorry!
