would it be too soon to phone tax credits?

i have been made redundant from my part time job of 14 hours per week, my last day was yesterday, i was wondering if i need to phone tax credits asap to notify them that i am not working or shall i wait until april as it is so close to the end of the tax year. i already have an ongoing claim with tax credits for my two children. please can someone advise me.

Phone them and tell them. Always keep them upto date with everything as soon as you can. They will also want notifying when you have claimed benefit (JSA/IS if you are going to make a claim and are able to)
