Camera stolen in Turin - some questions about insurance claim

Well I managed to get my camera pickpocketed in Turin last week near the Olympics Medals Plaza - it seems the Italiens could win a gold medal in that sport.
I've read my insurance policy, but just wanted to get some advice before I put the claim in as some questions I have the policy basically didn't answer for me.
1. The digital camera is a couple of years old. As its out of date now I wouldn't replace it with the same model. Are they likely to give me the second hand value or the price I originally paid for it? I'd be after the later of course, as that would allow me to get a better model at the same price.
2. Digital Memory - the policy doesn't classify this as a valuable, yet it does say film is a valuable. Has anyone experience of putting in a claim for memory? Did they treat it as a valuable? Basically the 1gbcard cost me a fortune a couple of years back, but now they are cheaper. If they classify this as a valuable I dont think my valuables limit would cover it and the camera
3. The police report. Im not sure if the italien police put in the memory card as well as the camera into the report, though I did ask them to. We were having some language difficulties though. Is this likely to be a problem on my claim? ie do you need to list absolutely everything on the police report?
4. The police report is in italien. Whose responsibility is it to translate it?
thanks for your advice on this one.
