had my laptop for 5 years now, and thinking its time to upgrade, was 512 RAM (now put 2Gb in it), 20Gb hard drive, XP, unsure of processor:rolleyes: and cost £600 5 years ago
Seen a few decent ones for £400 recently and in 2 minds about upgrading, few computer lads at work seem to think prices may rise by maybe 20% in next few months cant remember the reason why?
Worth changing now if i can afford to?

Is there any need? ie is the lappy not working correctly or is there something that the lappy can't do that a new one will?
Prices may go up but they will come down eventually. The only thing tyo worry about is the hard drive on a 5yr lappy. Change that and you should get a few more years out of it. At least then, microsoft may have sorted out their operating systems.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -

You'll remember the reason why when next you go on holiday abroad, if your money is still in Browned Sterling.
Buy things now, while you can still afford to.
You've already left it too late for a lot of items. Prices of everything that's imported are rising. Soon (when existing stocks run out and have to be replaced) this will be steeply.
Matters are going to get worse (a lot worse, unless you're already now homeless) in Busted Britain - not better.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

If only there were other operating systems out there.
If someone bought a car and it turned out to be a piece of junk, they're not likely to be in a hurry to buy a car from the same manufacturer again.
Conversely, if people don't like Microsoft's operating systems, instead of using something else, they just hope they get better in the future.
