Australia Long Shot !! LOL

OK since I am recently single @ the ripe old age of 33 lol I am planning on getting away for a bit and see some things I have been talkin about for years.
Option 1 was a road trip from west to east usa at my own pace roughly taking 3 months away then coming home again.
Then a friend of mine is talking about heading to australia to meet up with some others currently living & working there, now he is lucky enough to have got a workers holiday visa (12months) just before his 31st birhtday a few months back so he is sorted but unfortunately due to my age 33 i cannot get one of these visa's. I would really love to do this one and maybe never return home again if things went well in aussie land, now I have only worked as a Freight Clerk for P&O Ferries for the last 11 years dont really see it coming under the automatic in trades aussieland requires, so really I am wondering if anyone else knows the best way I can go about getting in so to speak. I havent a clue. Would using one of those agents who say they can get you a visa but who charge quite a bit be the best bet????
Can anyone reccommend one even if this is my only option.
As I mentioned I havent a clue on this so if anyone can give me any help that would be awesome & I tahnk you very much indeed.

P&O have a big maritime freight operation in Melbourne. (I'm assuming here that you still work for them): do they have some system where you can request a transfer overseas?0

Lots of them. See here:

and here for Sydney:

I don't work in the shipping industry, though, so can't really offer much more advice...0 -
