Southern Electric Social Tarrif

I'm on contribution based JSA and only today discovered that I could apply for Southern Electric's Social Tarrif (I use them for my gas and elec.).

My question: If eligible, would I receive 20% off my current payments

OR

Might the 20% actually prove more expensive for me?

I live on my own, and carry a hot water bottle around, as the house is so freezing. I've been trying to keep my costs down already, but cannot do anything more.

thanks

You need to work out how much Gas/Elec you use and compare against other companies.

I am with Ebico and was looking at the social tariff BUT it was more expensive because of tiered rates (can't remember if there was a standing charge too)

When I was with EDF I had an annual rebate BUT had to pay more during the year to get £ back later!
