I need advice on getting money back from expedia

I recently made the mistake of phoning expedia directly to book some flights. I felt it was a complicated booking so I wanted to talk to someone to make sure I was able to book my mum and step dad on the same flight back as myself and my 2 small children. All went well until I got my visa statement an saw I had been charged £100 for "admin costs" by expedia. Apparantly it does say you will have to pay £10 to book flights over the phone but a, I wasn't really aware of that and b I don't think it says that it is £10 per person you book for on top of the £10 per person booking fee you pay anyway. I can't believe that one phone call to Expedia can incur £100 of fees and that they are able to do this.
I have had no luck complaining to Expedia and wondered if there is any other avenues I can go down. Or should I just cut my losses and not book with them again?

I think that you might just have to cut your losses and not book with them again!
Looking at their website it is the same there:£5 per flight booking fee purchasing a flight on-line
Updated: 03/01/06
Expedia.co.uk charges a booking fee of £5 per ticket for some airline tickets purchased on our website. We have made the decision to introduce this booking fee because scheduled airlines are reducing the level of commission paid to all travel agents (not just online travel agents). The aim is not to create more revenue for Expedia, the aim is to recover some of the lost revenue due to the recent commission reductions implemented by the airlines.
It probably doesnt make it very clear that you are going to be charged this - maybe worth a call to Trading Standards but to be honest dont think there will be anything they can do!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
thanks, had a feeling may be the case. Is interesting though that it says £5 booking fee as I was charged £10!0

Will they charge £5 each way? Making £10!
Try taking it up with them!
When you say you booked over the phone did they not inform you that you would be charged the £100 admin charge? Surely they cant just dump this on you?! Just thought this after posted previous post! Worth mentioning this! Is this £100 a seperate transaction on your credit card statement? If so do a chargeback and say that you didnt authorise it!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Have just looked and their web site says you will pay a £10 per person admin fee if you book over the phone. They have told me there is a taped message before you get throught to an operator telling you this. However it does not say this £10 fee is on top of the £10 per person booking fee. I am sure that nobody mentioned to me that I would be paying £100 in booking fees otherwise I wouldn't have booked it this way. the first i knew of it was when i saw my statement and i had £20 and £30 to expedia for booking fee then another £20 and £30 to another company called Leics travel. When i queried this i was told that is the telephone booking part of Expedia
I think the booking fees were all tied up in the price the operator gave me but she didn't break it down.0
