Is anyone a Word 2007 expert? I've been onto OU technical helpdesk and they don't know the answer
They insist on documents being saved as .doc not .docx (or an rtf, wri or txt) . I need to know how/if I can save what I create in Word 2007 inc the equations as a .doc file without loosing half of it.
This is how I lost half my marks last time, my equations disappeared when it was saved as .doc instead of .docx
Thanks in advance

To save a 2007 document to a document that 2003 Office or XP Office will see you need to change the file type from .docx to .doc. At the bottom of the window, when you click save, you will see that is says File name: Doc1.docx, and Save as type: Word Document (*.docx) Click on the drop down arrow for the Save as type and select Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc) This will work on all office 2007 products (although the example I showed was for Word, the same would be true of excel, etc. - example: Excel 97-2003 Document (*.xls) etc...
There's some good advice on here as regards what to do with your problem

Sorry I think I explained myself incorrectly but thanks for your reply
Saving as a .doc isn't the problem, it's the fact I loose my equations etc that is the problem. They disappear when saved as a .doc not .docx I was wondering if there is a way I can keep them in my document when changing it to a .doc file as necessary. One day I might be more organised...........

From memory I think there an option to 'maintain compatibility with Word 2003' when you save a document. There should be a box to tick for this to happen, have you tried that?0
