Has anyone heard of glue with varnish and preservative in it?

My chum has come up with an idea and suggests that we do something with plastic sweets (I think she means real sweets as there would be no need for preservative) and so she has asked me to find some glue that has not only a varnish quality (sets hard and clear) and it must contain preservative. Araldite is not the thing we are looking for.

Any idea what this type of glue is called and where I could get some?

I've used crystal resin (from hobbycraft) for setting love hearts in - to make table favours for weddings. They are okay for a while, but they won't last forever - this is not a mildew problem, more a dissolution problem (the whole sugar/water thing )

You need to find a solvent based resin that contains very little water or a clear varnish with a high VOC level - a DIY store would be your best be rather than a hobby store I would think.

I figured out that my chum was after resin and I found some for her on fleabay.
