PHI - Medical history disregarded

Does anyone know of any companies that will provide cover as an individual, rather than through an employer for 'medical history disregarded'?

There's been a few threads about this recently. I spent some time looking into this last year and the short answer is no, they will not disregard medical history. Some will cover existing conditions after a period of time but in that time you need to have been symptom and treatment (including medication) free. They also do not cover chronic conditions so any permanent illness/condition is not covered and that is a clause also included in corporate plans.

I'm in this particular boat. Managed to get critical illness cover - with my pre-existing condition excluded. Will probably be the same for PHI (which I also have - but took it
    out before condition developed).
