Hi - ordered 3 photos at £352 each, and 3 photos at about £120 each.
the order came to about £1400 - we were given a voucher of £1000 from 2007 where we had untouched - up photos, a photo of someone elses dog, and lots and lots of fibres and dust under the glass. It took 8 months to get our photos.
We decided to give them the benefit of doubt and use them again.
This time we have had 5 of the 6 photos - only 2 were ok first time and its quite a drive to the studio, (with children in tow - one with severe cerebral palsy), got 2 on the second time, third time the 2 outstanding were in the wrong frames, the next time - we didnt even get to see them as they were so bad, then on friday - fifth time - 1 was ok and the other had a fibre and dust under the glass and a fault with the glass that cast a shadow on the photo.
We ordered and paid by credit card last June 2008. They advertise perfect photos, and the fibres are from clothind. We could not take the photo from the frame and redo it ourselves as it is very intricate and sandwiched between a mount then 2 sheets of glass then another mount then the frame.
We are happy to keep the ones we have, and want a refund of £352 for the one outstanding. They dont ring to say that the photos are back in and dont check them first even though that say that they do.
- Great name - my youngest is called Kit too.
Best wishes, LHB0 -
Thanks Kit - its good to talk to you...
We had a voucher for £1000 from 2007 which we put towards our photos in 2008, and paid £400 on top of that voucher.
The 2007 order was finally completed after 8 months and we were given the £1000 voucher as a good will gesture for our inconvenience.
(We also had photos done there in 2001 which were absolutely amazing, but had only just gone to the venture franchise and was previously a family run photographers. the 2007/2008/2009 staff are different to those in 2001)
We ordered 3 vues - 10x8 in June 2008 (there was a package offer of 3 photos for £1057 instead of £1257) My £352 is based on £1057/3 as 2 are great and one is still unsatisfactory. These are the new syle vus with clear glass around the photo.
We also ordered 2 gift 7" and 1 desk 7x5" which were chosen based on the need for editing and the original picture format which we found very limiting this time, which are now fine.
In 2007 we ordered a different combination of photos.
We have 5 (finally) that we are happy with and one that we are not, which has been returned to the studio.0 -
Thanks Kit,
I have spoken to CW at head office a couple of times by phone and was under the impression that I would be refunded, then the studio sent the photo last Friday which still had a fibre and fault in the glass, which I sent back with the courier, who also saw the problems. I emailed them saying that I wanted a refund (which I had been consistently asking for since Dec 29th 2008) and spoke to CW. He said that he would sort it out with the studio. I got an email from a junior member of the studio saying that the manager is out until Tuesday and would contact me then, but she hasnt, nor today.
I cannot find an email address or mail address for Venture head office. I know its in Cheshire, but thats as far as I have got. I would like to put in writing to them0 -
just been to venture photography. Had a fantastic time. But can anyone clarity if the £95 7x5 photo is included in the 3 for 2 offer they are running.

I cannot believe people are paying those prices. Why not buy or even hire a camera and do it yourself for a fraction of the cost.0
