hi i was trying to use skype earlier as i have done many times and i could not get through because i had no sound card on my computer.
checked my speakers on my lap top and they work fine.
went to control panel, sounds and devices and it looked like i have never had sound on it as it was all light grey, unable to any thing with it.
in the bottom right hand corner of my comp the speaker icon has gone so its not on mute.
anyone got any ideas is it the sound card if so can it be fixed.
thanks in advance

have you got a disc for your motherboard with drivers on. Could try reinstalling sound drivers.0

Open up Skype.
Tools.
Options.
Audio Settings.
On the speaker setting there is a drop down box..............open this up and click on each one until your sound comes back. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

its a problem with the sound device i went through the skype tools and that didnt fix it.
i cant find my installation disc which is annoying because i have kept everything always do. if i cant download a free sound card any where i might have to go and buy one. i have tried realtek but they want money and i tried regcure but they want money too. would it be cheaper to buy one of these or go to pc world and buy a sound card.
